MACI operates under the following 4 main initiatives (click for details on each initiative)
Through our Pad for Girl Initiative (P4GI), we distribute menstrual hygiene products and conduct workshops on menstrual health. We also educate girls and communities to break taboos and myths surrounding menstruation. By ensuring access to safe and affordable menstrual products, we help girls attend school regularly and with dignity.
Our Orphaned Girl Initiative (OGI) provides scholastic materials, psychosocial support, and skills training to orphaned girls. This support helps them overcome discrimination and emotional challenges, enabling them to thrive in school and their communities. Many of these girls have gone on to complete their education and are now giving back to their communities.
We provide scholarships, scholastic materials, and mentorship programs to ensure girls stay in school and excel academically. Our mentorship initiatives pair girls with role models who guide them in their educational journey, helping them set and achieve their goals. This support reduces school dropouts and empowers girls to pursue higher education and career opportunities.
We equip girls and young women with practical skills such as tailoring, crafts, and business management through our Girls Entrepreneurship-Life Skills Initiative (GELSI). These skills enable them to generate income, support their families, and become financially independent. By fostering entrepreneurship, we help break the cycle of poverty and create future leaders.
Through our four targeted initiatives, we empower Ugandan girls with essential resources, skills, and support. From providing menstrual health products and entrepreneurship training to delivering comprehensive health education and specialized support for orphaned girls, we create lasting change in communities. Your partnership helps us reach more girls, prevent school dropouts, and develop future leaders who will continue transforming Uganda.
